How soon do I need to place my custom order?
It’s never too early to place your order! We recommend confirming your custom order at least 2 – 6 weeks in advance. Go ahead and send us an email or give us a buzz as soon as you know your event date.
How do I place my custom order?
Easy peasy! There are three simple ways to get your party started!
(1) EMAIL US! Shoot us a quick note to info@ellenJAYevents.com. Be sure to spill all the details of your soiree! We need your name, email address, phone number, event date, party theme and colors, number of guests, types of sweets and quantity of sweets. Please share pictures of your invitation or sweets you like for inspiration.

What happens after I send ellenJAY my custom order request?
After receiving your order details, we’ll email you a proposal to review before finalizing your custom order. Once you confirm your order, you’ll receive two invoices from us. The first will be your ellenJAY invoice detailing your order, and the second will be your Square invoice, which will allow us to process your prepayment online via credit card. Orders must be prepaid within 24 hours of receiving your Square invoice to reserve your event date.
Can I place my order on Facebook?
Sorry guys, but we cannot accept orders via Facebook, voicemail or text message. We ONLY accept orders via email, contact form and phone.
Do you take last-minute orders?
Well, we will always try our best to accommodate your custom order, but we’re usually completely booked up at least 2 weeks out. But, don’t be bummed if you waited until the last minute! You can always stop in the shop and grab some of our fabulous to-go sweets for your soiree.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes, ma’am, our custom sugar cookies and all other individual custom sweets have a minimum order of 24. However, once you reach the minimum, feel free to add on any additional quantity you would like. Need 47 Sammies? No problem!
Do you require payment in full to secure my order?
Orders totaling less than $500.00 must be paid in full to reserve your event date. Orders over $500.00 may be paid via a nonrefundable 50% deposit at the time the order is placed. The balance must be paid at least 2 weeks prior to your event.
What types of payment do you accept?
Paper or plastic! We accept cash, check or all major credit cards.
Can I cancel my wedding or dessert table order?
While the 50% deposit is non-refundable, you can apply your deposit towards another ellenJAY order during the next year.
Can I cancel my bakery order?
We understand unforeseen circumstances do sometimes arise. Therefore, we are happy to convert your original payment into a credit towards a future ellenJAY order. We do not offer refunds for cancelled orders. Please allow at least 7 days notice to cancel an order.
How much are custom sugar cookies?
Our custom sugar cookies average $4.00-$7.00 each with a minimum order of 24. Cookie collections typically have three shapes or designs and up to four colors.
Can my cookies be individually packaged?
Absolutely! We offer lots of options for packaging your cookies. We can heat-seal your cookies for an additional $0.50 each. We also offer individual favor packaging (tied with coordinating satin ribbon) for an additional $1.00 per cookie.
Can you create gift packaging for my sweets?
That’s our FAVORITE! We have several gift box options in various sizes to create the perfect sweet gift.
Why are your custom sugar cookies so special?
Lots and LOTS of work goes into each and every decorated cookie! This process is truly a labor of love that starts with researching the party theme, prepping the dough, cutting out the shapes (sometimes with the finickiest of cookie cutters), mixing icing colors of various consistencies, decorating and, finally, packaging. On average, one cookie can be touched 6 to 10 times depending on the intricacy and detail of the design.
Do you offer any discounts on decorated sugar cookies?
Unfortunately, we do not offer discounts on custom sugar cookies because each cookie takes the same amount of time to decorate to maintain the highest level of detail and quality.
Do you offer wedding tastings and consultations?
We do! ellenJAY tastings are $35.00 for up to 4 people. (Once you order a tasting, a Square invoice will be emailed and must be prepaid within 24 hours to secure your reservation.) If you book an event with us that exceeds $500.00, you will receive a $35.00 credit towards your grand total. We reserve 1 hour for your tasting appointment. During that time, we will discuss your vision for your wedding sweets. Consultations are scheduled by appointment only Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. We will provide a variety of sweets for you to sample during the tasting.
Do you offer to-go tastings?
No time? No worries! Many busy couples use our to-go tasting option. Once you schedule your to-go tasting (also $35.00, prepaid in advance), you can swing by to pick up your sweets. After you and your honey sample your goodies, call or email us to discuss your selections.
Do you require a deposit to secure the wedding date?
Yes. We require a nonrefundable 50% deposit to reserve your event date with the balance due 2 weeks prior to your event.
Do you deliver?
Yes, indeed, we do deliver to both Mobile and Baldwin counties. There is a delivery fee based upon location. Wedding cake delivery starts at $100.00.
Can you set up my cake and other dessert table sweets?
Absolutely! We would love to! Set up for a full dessert table starts at $150.00.
At the end of my event can you tear down my dessert table?
Certainly! We are happy to return to your venue to tear down your table and pick up all rental pieces. Our tear-down service starts at $100.00.
Can you replicate characters, such as Mickey Mouse, etc., on my sweets?
Unfortunately, we cannot replicate copyrighted images, logos or characters without written consent from the copyright owner. However, we often do create cookies and sweets inspired by the color scheme of your chosen theme.
Can you put my company logo on a cookie?
Our cookie artists can hand-pipe ALMOST any company logo onto our iced sugar cookies. We use a projector to hand-trace your company logo onto your very own branded cookie. While most logos work well, some are too intricate to be hand-piped in royal icing. Custom logo cookies typically range $6 to $7 each with a minimum order of 24. Please allow at least two weeks lead time. Ask us about shipping cookie gift boxes to your FAVORITE clients!
Do you offer sheet cakes?
No. Instead, we specialize in round, three-layer cakes in a variety of sizes to meet your desired number of servings.
Do you offer 3D or sculpted cakes?
Sorry! We do not at this time.
Do you use fondant?
Yes, we occasionally use fondant to add accent pieces to buttercream-covered cakes.
Can you create an exact replica of this cake or cookie I found online?
We are more than happy to use a client’s picture for inspiration, but we will create our own ellenJAY custom version for you.
What flavor cakes do you offer?

What size cake should I order?
All of our cakes are three-layered, round confections with the following approximate servings per size:
6 inch feeds ~12
8 inch feeds ~24
9 inch feeds ~32
10 inch feeds ~38
Need more servings? We can create a tiered cake to accommodate your desired amount of servings.
How should I transport my cake?
Our two-tiered cakes are packaged in 16-by-16-inch cube boxes. The back of an SUV is ideal to transport your cake home. Cakes should be placed on a flat surface for safe travel.
How should I store my cake until my party?
We recommend you keep your cake in the original box and in the refrigerator until a few hours before your event.
Do you offer cake pedestal or platter rentals?
Why yes we do, and they are FABULOUS! We have a variety of sizes and colors available to rent from our shop. You can pick up the rentals with your order, or they can be delivered with your sweets to your venue. Please return all rentals within 48 to 72 hours of your event. We will keep a credit card on file in the event of accidental damage. We can also return to your venue to pick up your rentals for an additional charge.
Do you offer vegan, dairy-free or nut-free sweets?
You bet! We offer several vegan and dairy-free cake options. We can also make nut-free sweets.
Do you have allergens in your bakery?
While we take every precaution to follow your dietary request, please remember we do have allergens, such as nuts, eggs and dairy products in our bakery. If allergens are a serious health concern for you, we recommend that you do not consume our baked goods.
Do you offer gluten-free sweets?
Sorry y’all! We don’t currently offer gluten-free treats.
Do you offer sugar-free sweets?
No, we don’t currently offer sugar-free sweets.
Do you ship your cookies?
Yes. All cookies are individually heat-sealed and placed in a bed of paper shred inside a gift box or bakery box, depending on your order. The box is then cushioned with packing peanuts and placed inside a shipping box. Packing your cookies for safe shipping is very important, and we’ve shipped lots of cookies this way with much success. Occasionally, a cookie may break or crack during shipment, but it will still taste yummy! We will not refund an order unless 50% or more of the order is broken.

Thanks so much for thinking of ellenJAY! We love to support the community that supports us, and we are happy to donate when we can.
